Training and Development Opportunities
Young Writers Mentorship Programme 2025
The Writers Block are looking for young writers in any genre or form to be part of their mentoring programme. Six applicants will receive free access to monthly creative writing workshops in Redruth, including masterclasses with published writers, 1-1 mentoring to develop writing, and a chance to share and publish your work.

Wedding Venue Opportunity
Did you know your cultural venue could become a licensed setting for legal wedding ceremonies? Becoming a licensed wedding venue can create a new revenue stream, encourage wider community engagement, and allow you to celebrate your venue in a different way. Intermediate Spatial Audio Training from Real Immersive, at Liskeard Library, 7th and 8th of July, 10am-4pm
Over the course of 2 sessions, you'll work together with a cohort of individuals to collect, and record a library of sounds that can be used to create your own spatial soundscapes. This course is free to attend but requires a £30 refundable deposit, you can view more information here.
Funding Opportunities
Local Community Fund from The Co-Op
The Local Community Fund shares £6,000 between three causes in each community. They are looking to support projects that enable people to access food, create opportunities for young people, improve people’s mental wellbeing, promote community cohesion and build sustainable futures.
The Heritage Revival Fund from the Architectural Heritage Fund
The Heritage Revival Fund has been created to help communities across England rescue and repurpose neglected historic buildings. This programme will focus on regenerating historic buildings in town centre locations. It will do this by supporting community organisations to take ownership of, adapt and reuse the local heritage assets that matter to them, transforming them into thriving spaces that meet their needs.

Several roles at ASONE
Location: Redruth/Hybrid
Deadline: 11th of July 2025.
Data and Evaluation Lead: Contracted for 12 months, the fee available is £12,000. The role will cover approximately 38 days of work. ASONE Hub is seeking to commission a skilled data analyst to collate and review existing data, formulate an approach to collecting data in the future and test that approach.
Music Technology and Live Production Strategy Development: Contracted for 12 months, the fee available is £5,000. The role will cover approximately 20 days of work. This contract opportunity blends strategic planning and policy alignment with educational engagement, community consultation, and industry collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of music education, digital and live production practices, and the broader creative industries.
Secondary Music Development Lead: Contracted for 12 months, the fee available is £15,000. The role will cover 1.5 days of work per week for 38 weeks of the year. ASONE are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable music education consultant to act as a Secondary Music Development Lead. The successful contractor will work strategically with a network of secondary schools, FE settings, ensembles and community partners to ensure high-quality musical experiences for all learners and develop sustainable progression routes across all musical genres and abilities.
Primary Music Development Lead: Fixed term until September 2027, the advertised salary is £12,000, working at 0.4FTE. ASONE Hub is seeking an experienced primary music education specialist to support and strengthen music provision in primary schools across Cornwall. Central to the delivery of the School Engagement Strategy, this role will focus on supporting primary teachers to confidently deliver music education and increase engagement with schools not currently participating in Hub activity.
Director of Creative Enterprise (Maternity Cover) at Creative Kernow
Location: Redruth
Deadline: 28th of July 2025. This role is temporary, for 12 months from September 2025 until September 2026, and part time, advertised as 0.6FTE. The advertised salary is £40,000 pro rata.
Director of Creative Enterprise leads Creative Kernow’s growing enterprise activities, develops its future strategy and new opportunities, while manages the team that delivers current programmes including:
Cornwall 365 What’s On: The Premier Platform for cultural life in Cornwall;
Creative Kernow Associates: The membership programme to connect, develop and showcase the creative and cultural sector in Cornwall;
Enterprise Projects: Cross organisation trading activities including research and consultation, skills and network development and business services.

The Writers’ Block is seeking a Treasurer to join their Board of Trustees and further their mission to support writers in Cornwall.
