GEM Conference 2024 Bookings and Proposals
Tickets are now available for the 2024 GEM Conference, taking place at M Shed in Bristol, 11-13th of September, with an option to join online. Applications for proposals are also open now and will close on the 26th of April.

Carbon Literacy Training and Climate Ambassador Training from LEAP
Join the Carbon Literacy Training for Creatives this May, for an informative and interactive Carbon Literacy for creative businesses training workshop – a course certified to a standard accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project and recognised by the United Nations.
After completing the Carbon Literacy training, you can attend a train the trainer session, taking place in June. You will be able to deliver a course to encourage sustainable consumption choices and spur climate action in your area.

ICON Skills: Essentials of Collections Care for Non-Conservators
This course will provide an overview of the key aspects of collections care, and provide relevant conservation training for those working in heritage institutions who don’t currently employ a dedicated conservator. Taking place over 4 sessions between the 16th of May and 6th June, the first 3 sessions will be online, with the 4th taking place in Birmingham.

Funding Opportunities
Applications for Small Open Grants from Museum Development South West are now open
This scheme aims to support organisations to improve organisational resilience, collections development, inclusion and inequality and environmental responsibility. Grants of between £1000 and £10,000 are available.

Project Coordinator at Redruth Former Library CIC
Location: Redruth
Deadline: 15th of April 2024. This is a fixed term consultancy contract. The advertised salary is £36,000.
A Project Coordinator is required to assist the Directors of the Redruth Former Library CIC from review of contractor tenders through the implementation stage of the project, generally assisting in all those activities that have to be undertaken to get the project on site. The Project Coordinator will then monitor the performance of the consultants and contractor to ensure the work progresses to budget, programme and the required quality standard.

Tech Cornwall Website Redesign Brief
Location: Redruth
Deadline: 18th April. This is a fixed term contract. The available budget is £10,000.
Tech Cornwall (formerly Software Cornwall) are seeking a web designer to redesign their website following a rebrand. The current website gives users the opportunity to post jobs, create news articles, upload their CV, manage a member profile, search those same member profiles and create events.
Collections Manager at Falmouth Art Gallery
Location: Falmouth
Deadline: 21st of April 2024. This role is offered on a permanent basis, at 30 hours per week. The advertised salary is £24,993-£26,776.
The role holder will safeguard, develop and broaden access to the town’s accredited public art collection. This will involve bringing the Gallery’s approach to collecting up to date, with the implementation of a new Collections Management System, and consolidation of existing practices.
Cornish Language Residency at Endelienta
Location: Port Isaac
Deadline: 22nd of April 2024.
This week-long residency is for creatives to work with a Cornish language expert to further their creative practice. During the week residents will have mornings with a language expert and afternoons to develop their own practice, work with other residents and gain inspiration from the beautiful North Cornish surroundings. We welcome composers, musicians, singers and writers to take part in this residency which will last for 6 days working on location in St Endellion in July 2024. A stipend of £600 per individual is available, plus travel expenses. Accommodation and workspace is provided for on site.
CEO/Creative Director at Sterts Arts
Location: Liskeard
Deadline: 29th of April 2024. This is a full time, permanent role, and the advertised salary is £38,000.
Sterts are seeking an experienced arts leader to be the main driver of their creative and community ambitions, overseeing all activities and development including partnerships, community connectivity and fundraising. The successful candidate will also be expected to oversee Sterts’ creative output as a producer including the live programme, visiting work, workshop programme, and youth, and adult theatre programmes.
Director (Wind in the Willows) at Sterts Arts
Location: Liskeard
Deadline: ASAP. The fee for this role will be £1500, which will be paid in two installments.
Sterts Theatre Company will be performing a production of The Wind in the Willows in November 2024 and they are looking for a Director to lead the project. The age range of performers is 10-90+yrs. The performance space at Sterts is currently being re-built and this is an opportunity to produce a show in a new space.
Invitation to Tender: Old Lifeboat Station and Watchtower Heritage Led Regeneration Project
Location: Looe
Deadline: 29th of April 2024. The budget available for this project is £20,000.
East Looe Town Trust (ELTT) is inviting tenders from suitably qualified historians to undertake comprehensive research into the history of the Old Lifeboat Station and three associated lifeboats, and to establish a new searchable website to showcase it.
