FylmK: Short films in Kernewek
A screening of recently commissioned short films in Kernewek (and Breton) as part of Celtic Media Festival 2025, happening at Lighthouse Cinema, Newquay, on the 4th of June, 6.45pm-8pm. Tickets are free and can be found here.
Screening and director Q&A: Atlas Pool
A film about the life and legacy of Nick Darke: acclaimed Cornish playwright, lobster fisherman, environmental campaigner, and wrecker. Taking place at Lighthouse Cinema, Newquay, on the 4th of June, 8pm-10pm. Tickets are free and can be found here.
Funding Opportunities
New Views Programme from the National Theatre
New Views is a year-long in-school playwriting programme for students aged 14-19. Each school is paired with a professional playwright who supports students to write their own original plays.

Interceltic Startup Challenge 2025 from the Interceltic Forum

The Interceltic Forum is selecting one start-up from each region to join an international growth programme, including creative industries businesses.

Health and Wellbeing in Museums Fund from Museums Association
Grants will enable the development and continuation of ground-breaking health and wellbeing programmes in UK museums during a time of financial crisis and increasing demand for services.

The Young and Talented Fund
The Young and Talented Fund strives to help young individuals (aged 14 to 23) across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, who have demonstrated outstanding talent in a particular field – such as sport and the arts – but are struggling to achieve their ambition or progress in their chosen career because of hardship or disability.
The fund is now accepting applications and will close on the 7th of July.
The Young & Talented Creative Writing Award
The Young & Talented Creative Writing Awards supports budding young writers (aged 16 to 23) in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly with mentoring and up to £1,000 funding, fostering their potential, skills, and career development in the literary field.
The fund is now accepting applications and will close on the 7th of July.

Make with Leach Coordinator: Adults and Young People at Leach Pottery
Location: St Ives
Deadline: 2nd of June 2025. This role is offered on a fixed term contract for 3 years, and full time. The advertised salary is £25,750.
The post holder will work with colleagues to successfully support and deliver the Make with Leach programme. The programme, which takes inspiration from the processes, ethos and legacy of the Leach Pottery will engage local families, community groups and neighbours of the Leach Pottery through creative workshops both at the Leach Pottery and offsite.
Learning and Participation Producer at Leach Pottery
Location: St Ives
Deadline: 2nd of June 2025. This role is permanent, and part time, advertised as 2 days a week. The advertised salary is £25,750 pro rata.
The post holder will provide both programming and practical support across the Learning Programme. The Learning Programme animates the Leach Pottery collection and exhibitions while also engaging broad audiences and generating income.
Project Coordinator at Kowethas an Yeth Kernewek
Location: Work from home
Deadline: 9th of June 2025. This role is offered on a fixed term contract until February 2028, and part time, advertised as 3 days a week. The advertised salary is £30,000 pro rata, equating to £18,000.
Kowethas an Yeth Kernewek is taking part in the REVIVE project, a EU Horizon funded research Project involving two endangered language communities, Cornish and Griko. REVIVE offers community-centred language REVItalisation powered by heritage-led storytelling and digital innovation in Europe.
